can reach the Kaiser Memorial, situated at the west end of the promenade.
Daliyat al-Karmel and Isfiya - a short drive from Eshkol Housing Serviced Apartments past Haifa University will take you to these two adjacent unique Druze villages. Situated at the top of Mount Carmel, Daliyat al-Karmel and Isfiya are ideal for enjoying a beautiful walk, a picnic, a meal in a fine restaurant or some shopping. The German Colony - a walk along Ben Gurion Blvd. illustrates the glorious history of the German colony. The Colony was established in 1868 by the German Templers, who came to Israel in the belief that redemption can only take place in the Holy Land. The German Colony in Haifa was the first of several colonies built by this group in Israel.
Below the Colony is Haifa port, and one of Haifa's main roads leads off from the Colony. At the beginning of the 90s the Colony was restored and renovated, and the spectacular Baha'i Shrine and Gardens were built. This preservation of the German Colony has made it a popular tourist attraction, and today the Colony is lively and picturesque, filled with restaurants, coffee shops and stores.
